Gaïa is a bronze sculpture by contemporary artist Romain Langlois, dimensions are 90 × 64 × 75 cm (35.4 × 25.2 × 29.5 in). The sculpture is signed and numbered, it is part of a limited edition of 8 editions + 4 artist’s proofs, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. In this bronze sculpture, Romain Langlois depicts the appearance of rock very accurately. The textures and colors are produced through various patinas and the casting process, respectively. To give the bronze this golden hue and glimmers of light, the interior has been polished. Romain Langlois finds inspiration in the natural world. The artist's magnificent bronze work breathes new life into these stumps, rocks, and discarded branches. The copied nature is both formally and substantively transformed by the bronze patina: the forms are stretched and hollowed out, and a golden substance—achieved by polishing the bronze—springs from the object's center. We are witness to the creation of priceless objects, which causes us to disregard their humble beginnings.

Recent Texas solo exhibitions include The Grace Museum; Cris Worley Fine Arts; Martin Museum of Art; Art Museum of Southeast Texas; and a two-person site-specific installation at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum. She was also included in recent exhibitions at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, TX and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, LA. She has exhibited internationally in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Greece, India, Japan, Peru, and Turkey.
